A pan-Isoko socio-political and cultural group, Isoko United Parliament, Asaba, has congratulated two of its members, Mr. Great Onaimor and Mr. Michael Oneke on their appointments as Special Assistants to the Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.
The group in a Press Statement jointly signed by the Interim General Secretary and interim Organizing Secretary, Engr. Bernard Ebegbare and Mr. Kingsley Ubuowere Igbi, said the appointment of the duo was a demonstration of the Governor’s readiness to bring more vibrant Isoko young men into his administration.
While noting that the appointments will go a long way to cushion the effect of the devastating lose of The else while member lrepresentating Isoko South Constituency I, Hon. Kenneth Ogba to the cold hands of death, the group advocated for more appointments to the Isoko Nation.
“The Isoko United Parliament, Asaba is glad to receive the news of the appointment of two of our members, Mr. Great Onaimor and Mr. Michael Oneke. These appointments are timely, appropriate and a glaring indication that the Governor listen to the yearnings of the people.
“It is a fact that these appointees were aides of the departed lawmaker Hon. Kenneth Ogba. This development will for sure cushion the effect of the loss of our big brother on his aides who directly drew their daily breat from their principal who is no more. However, we are equally using this medium to call for more appointments for youths of Isoko extraction as what we currently have is a far cry from what other ethnic nationalities can boast of.
“We congratulate these distinguished and illustrious sons of Isoko on this development. Even as we pray for more good things to come to Isoko, we are optimistic that sooner than later, the Isoko youth will assume our rightful place in the scheme of things”, the group said.
