Ruins of Old Roman City of Jarash; Remains of Artemis And Zeus Temples.

Delta Pilgrims to the holy land of Jordan, today had a view of Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the land of Canaan, which God said he would not enter. He died in moab.

We drove to the former ancient city of Jarash. This city have two major idle temples; Artemis and Zeus, now in ruins. Also in a shadow of itself is the Roman Catholic Church in Jarash, now Tourists major site in the city.

The demolished ancient Roman Church situates on a large expanse of land, same vicinity with the temple of Zeus and Artemis, also destroyed and converted to historical sites or tourists attractions.

The walls of this ancient Roman city is made of special heavy stones and still standing, very solid after several centuries.

The lesson to learn here is that all of these areas are now Moslem territories and managed by the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism. It cost each tourist 10 Jordanian Dollar to view these sites.

Christian population in Jordan is less than 4% and 96% Moslems. Electricity supply is constant. Jordan population is about 12 million people, with over 40 Universities, no oil but development is rapid.
