Several reactions from observing Nigerians have trailed the recent defection of former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), one of the most recent, coming from Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of Abia South Senatorial District who has said that Kayode’s action has only proven former President Olusegun Obasanjo right in a statement he (Obasanjo) earlier made about his character.
Fani-Kayode had in the past boasted that over his dead body would he defect to the APC.
Giving his reaction on Friday during an interview on television, Abaribe said he was less surprised about the development, describing Fani-Kayode as a confused person.
He referred his interviewer to Obasanjo’s statement which described Fani-Kayode as someone who sings praises when and where he is given food.
“Former President Olusegun Obasanjo had said it all before. He said “Femi Fani-Kayode is my boy. Provide him food, he will eat and then sing for you. He’s a smart boy,” the Senator maintained.
Speaking on 2023 elections, Abaribe said he was confident his party, the PDP getting majority of the vote from Nigerians and emerging victorious, as according to him, the APC has done nothing good for the country since it was voted into power in 2015
