The Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, today signed into law, the Bill for a Law Prohibiting Open Grazing, Indiscriminate Breeding, Rearing and Marketing of Livestock in Delta also known as “Anti Grazing Bill”.
The event which took place at the exco chambers, government House, Asaba, was witnessed by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ochor Christopher Ochor, the Majority Leader, Hon. Chief Ferguson Onwo and other principal officers of the Assembly.
Recall that The Delta State House of Assembly had during its plenary of Tuesday September 21, 2021, passed the bill into law. The passage was sequel to a motion for the third reading moved by the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Chief Ferguson Onwo.
The motion which was by the Minority Leader of the Assembly, Mr Innocent Anidi, was unanimously adopted by the house.
