As Muslims all over the world commemorate the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammed, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has admonished Nigerians to remain fervent in praying for a peaceful and prosperous nation.
Oborevwori who made this call through a press statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Dennis Otu to mark this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, said that prayer was key to solving the numerous challenges facing the nation and implored Nigerians not to relent in their prayers for this country.
While noting that the birth of the Holy Prophet is expected to usher in peace and goodwill, the Speaker further called on Nigerians irrespective of their faith to live peacefully with their neighbors as according to him, only peace can usher in the needed development and progress.
“I wish to felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters in the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud and to call on them to use this occasion to pray for a peaceful, united and a better Nigeria. Let us continue to show love to one another so that we will continue to live as a united nation. We must not allow ourselves to be divided”, the Speaker said.
