……….as PDP denies report
There are indication that chairmen of the twenty-one local government chapters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of next week’s gubernatorial election in the State.
A source in the State secretariat of the party who revealed the development to Niger Delta Searchlight, said a certain Hon. Sam Anyakora who is the chairman of chairman in the state, led the decampees to the state secretariat this morning. Our source hinted that the move was to help solidify the party ahead of the elections slated for next week Saturday.
When contacted for comment, the state publicity secretary of the PDP, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo denied the report, stating that none of the chairmen of his party left for the APC. He said the Sam Anyakorah who allegedly led the decampees to the APC was never a local government chairman of the party in the state not to talk of being the chairman of all LGA chairmen of the party.
The party’s image maker said the PDP is determined to win the governorship election and would not allow itself to be distracted by the antics of the APC who according to him is “still bleeding over non conduct of party primary election”.
More details shortly……
