The Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Rural and Community Development, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, PhD has urged youths in Isoko to ensure synergy in all levels for a peaceful and investment friendly nation. Dr. Okoro stated this on Thursday, at his office in Asaba, when the Isoko United Parliament Asaba paid him a courtesy visit.

Rt. Hon. Okoro, who is also the Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, pointed out that a peaceful atmosphere is important for investment to thrive, stressing that only then would there be jobs for the teeming youths and people.

He said, “No matter where we find ourselves as sons and daughters of Isoko nation, we should have the knowledge of what we ought to do and working together as a team to satisfy our people.

“If Isoko is developed, it’s for the betterment of everybody; I really want to commend your coming together for this purpose and for your unity to form this body to promote the development of Isoko nation. It’s also a good thing that those of you who have formed this association are mostly in Asaba.

“Promoting your culture is a very good thing. As sons and daughters of Isoko, we have only one place, and that is Isoko nation. So we must learn to work together as a nation; don’t create divisions, the real thing is that all of us must work together to produce the best results for our people.

“It is not about our money or what we stand to gain as individuals; we need to check ourselves regularly to know if we have been able to achieve what we ought to do at any given time.

“Even as we all work to build a stronger Delta, we must continue to thank God for giving us a God fearing and people oriented Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa; who always listen to his people and doing his bid to develop the state. So no matter what we have to do, being able to achieve peace is very important in order for the Governor to achieve his aim even though there is still a lot to be done in our land,” Okoro said.

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of Isoko United Parliament Asaba (IUPA), Comrade Palmer Ogheneyole said that they were on a solidarity and familiarization tour to the Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly. He noted that the Isoko United Parliament Asaba (IUPA) is a social cultural group of all Isoko people residing in Asaba, aimed at bringing together the indigenous people of Isoko; and ensuring that the bond of love grows stronger, which is further reflected in their slogan “MAJOVO”. Comrade Palmer thanked the Special Adviser for the warm reception given to them, and lauded his leadership prowess that has continued to bring development to Isoko nation and Delta State at large.
