Uyo, January 10, 2025 – The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Ph.D., has approved the dissolution of the State Executive Council (EXCO), with immediate effect.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, amd made available to this medium, the decision mandates all Commissioners and Special Advisers to hand over their portfolios to their respective Permanent Secretaries. It stated further that, for ministries or departments without a Permanent Secretary, the most senior director is expected to assume responsibility.
Governor Eno expressed his profound gratitude to the outgoing Executive Council members for their commitment and service to the state, while acknowledging their contributions to the growth and development of Akwa Ibom State. He extended his best wishes for their future endeavors.
This significant administrative decision marks a new phase in the governance of Akwa Ibom State, as potential changes is anticipated in the composition of the state’s leadership team.
