Okpomo Praises Oborevwori for Commitment to Delta’s Environmental Sustainability

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has received compliments for his dedication to enhancing the beautification and environmental sustainability of the state.

Chief Emmanuel Erezih, the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Beautification, who expressed his gratitude in a statement recently in Asaba, said that the importance of the Governor’s support in enabling effective environmental management in the state cannot be overemphasized.

Erezih popularly known as “Okpomo” by virtue of his traditional chieftaincy title of “the Okpomo of Okere-Urhobo Kingdon”, thanked Governor Oborevwori for empowering him with the necessary tools and resources to serve the people of Delta effectively. He urged residents to collaborate with the government in promoting environmental protection and sanitation, which are crucial for public health and safety.

The EA further highlighted the positive impacts of a clean environment on economic activities and the overall well-being of the community, stressing that Deltans and residents should adopt eco-friendly practices aimed at positioning the state as a preferred investment destination.

“One of the policy objectives of the Oborevwori administration is to improve waste management for better public health and environmental sanitation in urban and rural areas and make waste management more efficient, effective and sustainable.

“Over the past one year, we have cared for the environment to have cleaner air and effective climate change by ensuring modernization and beautification of our environment.

“I use this opportunity to thank and appreciate our dear Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the support and encouragement in the discharge of my duties” he said

Adding that, “He has provided us with requisite tools and resources to function effectively in the beautification of our environment and we will continue to do our best to turn our environments around.”
