The Honourable Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Delta State, Barr.  Reuben Izeze, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for delivering on his promise of meaningful development to the people of Delta State.

Speaking during the inspection of a 1.192km stretch of internal roads in Sapele Local Government Area, including Benjamin Osaragbaje, Orhorhor Road, Orhorhor Link Road, and Chechester Road, Izeze described the project as a clear demonstration of the governor’s commitment to the MORE Agenda.

“Governor Oborevwori assured Deltans that he would be a governor for all,” Izeze stated. “He visited these roads during the Christmas holidays in 2023 and saw their deplorable state. True to his word, he initiated the rehabilitation of the entire stretch. Today, the drains are completed, and the binder and friction courses are being applied. What remains is the desilting of the drains and road markings ahead of commissioning. This is another promise kept.”

On behalf of the people of Sapele, Izeze expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for fulfilling his promise to the people
He lauded  residents of the area for maintaining a peaceful environment that enabled the engineers and contractors to work efficiently.

While urging the community to maintain the newly constructed drains to prevent blockages and flooding, he said that failure to do so could lead to potential health danger to the people.

“The drains must remain clean to serve their purpose and not become breeding grounds for mosquitoes due to indiscriminate refuse disposal.”

Izeze also praised the quality of the work done by the contractors, stating that it met all the requirements of the Bill of Engineering Measurements and Evaluation.

Community Commends Governor Oborevwori

A resident and community leader, Chief Apolo Osaragbaje, expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori, describing him as a “talk-and-do” leader.

“The road was nearly impassable, especially during the rainy season, due to flooding. When the governor visited and I made the request, I didn’t expect such a quick response. But soon after, we saw an expatriate contractor, Niger Cat, on site,” Osaragbaje remarked.

He compared the governor’s achievements to those of former Governor Ogbemudia, noting, “The governor has done an outstanding job, not just in Sapele but across the three senatorial districts of Delta State. His efforts have improved our living conditions, and we deeply appreciate him.”

The newly constructed roads, with adjoining links, have not only enhanced mobility but also improved the aesthetics of the area, further demonstrating Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to bringing meaningful development to all parts of Delta State.
